Brett emcees second running Melba Christmas extravaganza

Disability service Melba Support Services does things BIG. That includes their annual Christmas bash which entails five or so separate parties held simultaneously and brought together via old fashioned closed circuit television (well, the internet.)

At headquarters in Dandenong a full working broadcast TV studio is set up - multi camera, autocue, big lighting rig, tech crew of six, staging etc.

The action is beamed to the satellite parties creating one trans-Victorian celebration.

Entertainment comes from the people who Melba supports and a cabaret performer. There’s poetry, video shorts and a bare minimum of formalities. Brett de Hoedt is the event’s Master of Ceremonies and it takes all his improvisational skills to keep up.

This was the second year running Brett ran the shindig. What a way to end the year and mark the International Day of People With A Disability.
